MpegTV Player

MpegTV Player is a real-time software MPEG Video Player (with audio/sync) for Linux and other Unix platforms.

AlsaPlayer

DivFix

This program was created to be able to watch partially downloaded DivX (AVI) movies.

It can rebuild or strip the index part of the movie, which is at the end of the file.

There are also a basic error detection, which can detect serious errors in the audio/video stream.

Grip

Grip is a cd-player and cd-ripper for the Gnome desktop. It has the ripping capabilities of cdparanoia builtin, but can also use external rippers (such as cdda2wav).

It also provides an automated frontend for MP3 (and other audio format) encoders, letting you take a disc and transform it easily straight into MP3s. Internet disc lookups are supported for retrieving track information from disc database servers.

Grip works with DigitalDJ to provide a unified "computerized" version of your music collection.

Pidgin is an instant messaging program for Windows, Linux, BSD, and other Unixes. You can talk to your friends using AIM, ICQ, Jabber/XMPP, MSN Messenger, Yahoo!, Bonjour, Gadu-Gadu, IRC, Novell GroupWise Messenger, QQ, Lotus Sametime, SILC, SIMPLE, and Zephyr.

Pidgin can log in to multiple accounts on multiple IM networks simultaneously. This means that you can be chatting with friends on AIM, talking to a friend on Yahoo Messenger, and sitting in an IRC channel all at the same time.

Pidgin supports many features of the various networks, such as file transfer, away messages, and typing notification. It also goes beyond that and provides many unique features. Drip, a DVD to DIVX conversion application. (PAL only)

Drip is a DVD to DIVX conversion application. It's made up out two applications: a DVD reader and a DIVX encoder. The reader is a GUI for the GNOME environment, the DIVX encoder a text mode tool. You wont have to learn to use the textmode tool, because the GUI also is a frontend for it.

Most features are supported, but the project is still in Beta phase, so expect to find bugs. Drip is not yet usable for NTSC (Region1) DVDs because those are prepared differently as PAL DVDs.

Requirments:
A recent version (1.2 or later) of the GNOME environment.
nasm and automake-1.5 or later to compile.
A Unix OS with GNU development and DVD support (UDF or ISO9660), like linux 2.4
libdvdcss-1.2.2 for handling DVD data.
libdvdread-0.9.3 for parsing DVD disk info.
For mpeg2 and a52 decoding, install both libmpeg2 0.2.1 and liba52
xvid 0.9.2
avifile 0.7.34 or later for divx;-) encoding.
Image Magick for the ImageMagick filter.
libXML2.
gcc 3.2.x to compile.

Dont forget to run configure --without-pic, to satisfy gcc.
