Disk Cleaner was inspired by one of the system tools that can be found in Windows 98. As I was running Windows 95 myself those days, and upgrading my machine to 98 was not an option, I decided to write such a tool myself. This means that you can clear the cache every time you boot Windows.

DoubleKiller searches your hard disk (or selected folders) for identical files and offers you to delete or move them.

It can compare the file using simple date and file size methods as well as a CRC checksum calculation to make 100% sure that the files are indeed identical.

You then get a list of all duplicate files that were found and can decide which files should be deleted or not.

Important files like dlls, and other system files can be completely excluded from the search using a user defined mask.
